Navratri is a festival of joy, dedicated to the Hindu deity Durga. The word Navratri stands for nine nights, Nava means nine and Ratri means nights. This is the day when nine forms of Devi are worshipped by Mata devotees in various places of India. Day after Navratri is mainly celebrated as Vijayadashami or Dussehra in different parts of the country. Navratri is a very popular festival, generally celebrated around the India and Nepal. It is the time when Goddess Durga or Mata Amba is worshipped by Mata’s devotees. During this festival, people dance together in different places with lots of fun and joy. On the third day of Navratri is Maa Sindoor Tritiya Chandraghanta is worshipped by people. The next day on Navratri Mata Varad Vinayaka Chauth and fifth day Maa Upang Lalita Vrat Skandamata are worshipped. On the sixth day of festival Mata Saraswati Awahan Katyayani and seventh day Saraswati Puja Kalaratri Pujan are worshipped by devotees. The 8th day of Navratri is mainly celebrated as Durga Ashtami or Maha Ashtami in many regions of India. The Ninth day of Navratra refers to Ayudha Puja, Durga Visarjan, Maha Navami.
